News from Winona LeBlanc Moeller

Winona has a B.S. (nursing major), M.S. (Family Health and Education) and certificates for post-graduate study. She is a retired LTC, Army Nurse Corps and completed assignments in Germany and throughout the United States. Winona was on special assignments to Fort Sam Houston and the Pentagon for Army Nurse Education. She was honored as Woman of the Year for America Red Cross Europe and earned the Outstanding Nurse Award for Quality Improvement in the Northeast Region.

Winona remains active on the Board of Alumnae at UMASS Amherst. In retirement she keeps busy with home remodeling, gardening, cooking, reading, listening to classical music, walking, and swimming. She quickly adds that "Any of these activities take a back seat when Ken and I are able to enjoy our grandchildren - Derek, 5, and Amanda, 3." Winona and Ken moved fifteen times in their married lives (43 years). Their two children, Gregory and Jonathan, live in Massachusetts and New York.
In high school, Winona was a member of the Junior Red Cross 1, 2, 3, 4 a Senior Play Usherette, and Pro Merito.
